1. Read and Annotate Book
-Reread and annotate again (looking at/for patterns in my annotations)
2.Go over patterns in my annotations
-start to connect said patterns to literary features
3. With literary features choose which to focus on.
- look through annotations to make sure that there is substantial evidence and material to write about chosen literary feature.
4. Flip through annotations to figure out main ideas for essay.
-synthesize into large ideas to make into thesis.
5. With (draft)thesis begin to out line essay
- while going through this part make sure that there are usable quotes for ideas/ statements.
6. With outline begin to insert the quotes in appropriate places in outline
- outline should be pretty extensive and detailed now.
7. Now that the idea of the essay is formed revise thesis as it is probably not as correct as it once was.
- make sure that topic sentences now fit with new topic sentences and idea now connected directly.
8. Begin writing essay (from second paragraph, not introduction)
-this is really just making the outline flow a little more like an essay.
9.From this outline/essay begin to review and make flow better in the paragraphs.
- then from paragraph to paragraph.
10. Now that the body paragraphs sound more essay like work on introduction and conclusion.
11.Make sure that introduction connects to essay topic sentences.
12. Read aloud for grammatical errors
- try leaving essay alone for awhile and come back to it after forgetting exact word to the essay.
-Review for flow.
13.Format
14.Review to make sure formatting did not mess anything up
- Review again for grammatical problems.

Your plan is splendid. It procures a thoroughly reasoned set of procedural steps in which I may, or may not, take heed of when I do formulate my own paper.

Samantha, your plan is strong, clear and gives the reader an accumulative guide from start to end. It also gives the reader enough time to formulate the ideas. Although this is strong I feel like you could have included more before the actual outline. A little more guidance through the actual choosing of the topic, perhaps the person should make a list? Or consider which one is the most interesting?

ReplyDeleteThe plan is pretty easy to follow and also make changes to. I think it might be better to start finding support for the quotes before making the outline so that you are sure you can substantiate the point. It also may help to get a peer review to help with the editing stages. Overall this is a good plan for making sure the essay is logical and well written.
ReplyDeletepros: clear and covers lots. the steps are easy to follow.
ReplyDeletecons: maybe talk about research (secondary sources) also some steps may be repetitive, as the tedious annotations research may be unecessary

ReplyDeleteThis is a very methodical and well thought out. Maybe if you stated a bit more on how to formulate a structure and maybe trying to look more into the life of Camus, which may provide unique information integral to ones thesis. Overall a very solid outline.
ReplyDeleteYour plan is clear and easy to follow. I think you should add a step where people should re-read the secondary sources because it may help with their essay, but otherwise, this plan is good.
ReplyDeleteThe plan is good and clear and detailed which will help and so far it seems to be the best i've seen. good
